The Growing Matters Garden program provides opportunities for local youth to learn how to prepare and sell fresh garden produce at local farmers' markets. During the growing season, a portion of the produce from the Growing Matters Gardens is sold at the 100-Mile Market in Downtown Kalamazoo and the Douglass Farmers' Market at the Douglass Community Center.
.100-Mile Market
Look for us at the 100-Mile Market at the new People's Food Co-op at 507 Harrison Street just east of downtown Kalamazoo. The market opens in June and continues each Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. until the end of October. Come support us at a market specifically focusing on local food! Check back here each week for a list of what we will have for sale.
**SNAP benefits (EBT/bridge card/food stamps), Project Fresh vouchers and Double Up Food Bucks tokens can be used to purchase our produce at the 100-Mile Market.**
We'd like to offer thanks to the People's Food Co-op of Kalamazoo for providing this great farmers' market opportunity. We appreciate your continued support of our program!
Douglass Farmers' Market
Thanks to all who shopped with us at the Douglass Farmers' Market- the newest farmers' market in Kalamazoo. We will be there again next year and hope that it will become a more frequent event! The market is located at the Douglass Community Center at 1000 West Paterson Street in Kalamazoo.
**SNAP benefits (EBT/bridge card/food stamps), Project Fresh vouchers, and Double Up Food Bucks tokens can be used to purchase our produce at the Douglass Farmers' Market.**
We'd like to offer thanks to the Douglass Community Association and the Kalamazoo Community Foundation for supporting this great farmers' market opportunity.
