Eat Local, Kalamazoo, now in its fifth year, is a fun (often light-hearted) series of events and programs designed to increase our community's appreciation for the incredible food that our region produces and consumes.
Last year, "Eat Local, Kalamazoo" offered 38 events throughout the year, covering topics ranging from home canning to Mediterranean cooking, from backyard chickens to school food. The impact from these events was significant -- nearly 30 local gardens were part of the community garden tour, three dozen local food businesses took part in the September scavenger hunt, and we literally had to turn people away from our first cheese-making workshop. In all, nearly 5,000 food lovers attended these events (and, of course, many more heard about them through our marketing efforts). Plans are underway to make "Eat Local, Kalamazoo" bigger and better in 2001!
Sponsor benefits: For a tax-deductible donation of just $300, your business name and/or logo will be listed in all printed materials (approximately 15,000 copies of the program brochure, scavenger hunt game card, and community garden tour map, all of which are distributed to dozens of businesses throughout the community); shown all year long here on the "Eat Local, Kalamazoo" website, with a link to your website; included in all news releases; and mentioned at the beginning of each "Eat Local, Kalamazoo" event.
Nearly 90% of 1,044 adults (polled by strategy and communications firm Cone) said that they want companies to support charitable causes. An "Eat Local, Kalamazoo" sponsorship is a cost-effective way to keep your business on the minds of thousands of potential customers for an entire year!
This sponsorship opportunity is available to a maximum of 10 participants. Please contact Paul at (269) 492-1270 or paul@fairfoodmatters.org to find out more!
